My Work
Cindy Walker, E/RYT 500
I have been passionately involved in Yoga for over 20 years. Discovered it and meditation in college when I had to grow up fast, and I realized I was going to need tools to manage stress and maintain my well being. My 1st class awakened me to spirit, and to new places in my body/mind. I was instantly hooked and found the practice
to be my salvation, therapist and best friend.
Yoga allowed me to see my soul and that of others.
For me, this was and continues to be Nirvana!
I adore teaching, and am known for eclectic classes that weave elements from Vinyasa, Kundalini, Iyengar, Yin & Therapeutic Yoga into my classes. You never quite know what I will pull out of my sleeve, but you can definitely expect very cool tunes, a strong workout, and a deep zen stretch to finish. I creatively draw into each class the wisdom of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga theory using breath, movement, imagery, humor, psychology and deep relaxation.
Dedicated to helping those in need and awakening my softer
approach to Yoga, I started the "Yoga for Cancer Program"
in Stanford Hospital's - Complimentary Medicine Program.
Teaching restorative, gentle yoga and guided imagery techniques,
I have lovingly worked with many people
with life threatening illnesses, diseases and injuries of all sorts.
This program flourishes today.
I hold a B.A. in Movement Therapy & Psychology,
and Yoga certifications from the White Lotus Foundation,
Sean Corn, Erich Schiffman, Bryan Kest, Paul Grilley,
Cheri Clampett & Arturo Peal and Judith Lasater.

30+ years led her to become a collage artist creating
her home as a living sanctuary.
She and her husband have taught yoga and art of living classes for 12 yrs. in Silicon Valley and the Monterey Bay and are finishing an intimate retreat on their 2 acres in the forested Felton mountains.
Hanumasana
Monkey Pose
"Hanuman" was a devotee to the Hindu God Rama - the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. His extraordinary strength, devotion and flexibility are qualities called forth and necessary for doing this pose. One of the most difficult to master, it should be approached with caution as injuries are common in this pose.
Benefits include improved leg flexibility and circulation. Stimulating to the immune and reproductive systems, it is also tonifying of the abdominal organs.
