Salamba Sirshasana
Headstand Pose
"Salamba" means with support and "sirsa" means the head.
Headstand is one of the most important yogic asanas. Mastering it gives the practitioner poise and balance, both physically and mentally. It takes time to feel oriented to surroundings when balanced on the head.
There is a fear of tumbling over and hurting oneself.
Strangely, the “falling out” part is sort of fun!
Headstands are a tonic for the brain, lower the blood pressure,
calm the nervous system and stimulate the endocrine system.
